The British Library is the UK’s national library and one of the largest in the world, holding over 170 million items making it a vital resource for research, learning, and cultural enrichment. As a place of knowledge the British Library serves a diverse audience, including researchers, students, businesses, and families.
To better understand its audience and the motivations behind their visits, the British Library partnered with Obsurvant to run an ongoing brand tracker.
This monthly tracker is conducted across the UK collecting data from a nationally representative audience each month.
The study aims to uncover general awareness around the institution and its online presence, reasons people visit the British Library, the resources they use and their experience.
By exploring these areas, the British Library can improve its understanding of its reach and relevance. Helping to shape the Library’s offer to better meet the needs of its visitors, ensuring that the Library remains a vital and accessible resource for everyone.
