On behalf of Charlesbye, Obsurvant surveyed 2,010 UK adults online between 17 and 22 June 2026. Respondents completed the survey using mobile and desktop devices.
The survey of UK adults explored levels of numeracy, financial literacy and confidence with mathematics. The study examined how people apply numerical skills in everyday situations, including interpreting financial information, understanding interest, reading clocks, calculating percentages and making informed financial decisions. It also explored attitudes towards maths education, self-confidence in numeracy, experiences of financial loss linked to poor numeracy, and perceptions of student finance. The findings provide insight into how numerical skills affect everyday decision-making and financial wellbeing.
